HEC had no network. We built one end to end: structured cabling, a proper rack, managed switching, a FortiGate firewall with real policies, and VPN access for remote work.
There was no structured network in place — no cabling standard, no rack, no managed switching and no perimeter security. Everything visitors see in the photos below was installed by our team.
We built the physical layer first, then the logical one: cabling and rack, switching, firewall policies, and finally VPN access so the team can work securely from outside the office.
Cable routing, trunking, terminations and patch panels done to a standard, labelled and documented rather than improvised.
Rack mounted and organised: patch panels, switches, firewall, power and cable management, with airflow and access planned.
Managed switches configured with VLANs, trunk and access ports, and uplinks sized for the traffic between floors.
Firewall installed and configured — interfaces, zones, routing and security policies instead of an out-of-the-box "allow everything" setup.
VPN configured for secure remote access to internal resources, with user policies controlling what each connection can reach.
Every run is terminated, labelled and patched, so a fault is traced in minutes instead of guesswork.
FortiGate policies define what actually crosses the boundary, in both directions.
VPN access to internal resources, scoped per user rather than opened to the internet.
